Leo van den Thillart

Chief Executive Officer, Managing Partner

Leo is the Chief Executive Officer and a Managing Partner of Sera Global.

He has over 20 years’ experience in the alternatives asset management industry in senior management roles, and as a business builder with extensive strategic, capital formation, product development, manager M&A and alternative investments advisory experience and has raised more than $250 billion of capital across funds, co-investments and direct investments.

Leo was formerly a Managing Partner at Brookfield Asset Management and Global Head of Brookfield’s Private Funds Group from 2009 through 2020, instrumental in building out Brookfield’s Private Funds Group and responsible for the global marketing strategy, fundraising and product development of Brookfield’s private funds.

Leo is a Board and Foundation Investment Committee member for the Menninger Clinic (a top-ranked psychiatric hospital). He is also a Board and Investment Committee member for CABHI, the Centre of Aging & Brain Health Innovation (solution accelerator focused on driving innovation in the aging and brain health sector).

Daniel Mortazavi is Co-Head of Sera Global’s Private Wealth Distribution business based in our New York office.

Daniel co-leads Sera Global’s Private Wealth Distribution practice where he supports private markets fund managers to access private wealth capital and scale their distribution capabilities in the channel.

Daniel has over 16 years’ experience and was formerly Head of Private Equity, Private Credit and Co-Investments at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

William Nazar de Jaucourt is Co-Head of Sera Global’s Private Wealth Distribution business based in our New York office.

William co-leads Sera Global’s Private Wealth Distribution practice where he supports private markets fund managers to access private wealth capital and scale their distribution capabilities in the channel.

William has over 15 years’ experience and was formerly a Director and Head of Alternative Investments Growth Strategy for Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Private Bank.

Liam Connor is a Senior Vice President at Sera Global based in New York.

Liam is responsible for managing sales and distribution campaigns with financial advisors and registered investment advisors for Sera Global’s Private Wealth Distribution practice.

He was formerly at TPG where he was responsible for private wealth distribution for the western portion of the U.S.. Prior to TPG, Liam worked in Blackstone’s Private Wealth Solutions and Insurance Solutions businesses.

Alec Abaunza is an Associate at Sera Global in our New York office.

Alec is responsible for supporting the private capital and private wealth groups through complex financial modelling, market analysis, due-diligence and capital raising.

He was formerly at EY within the Real Estate Strategy group.

Alec holds a B.S. from Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate and a concentration in Development.
